The Chromebook User Agreement has been adjusted. The most common damage that occurs to the student Chromebooks are broken screens and corners being cracked/ broken. While sometimes accidents happen, I believe some of this damage can be avoided by having the students keep their Chromebooks in sleeves when not in use and especially when putting them in their backpacks. The price of screens has increased, so we are adjusting the Insurance Claim amounts for damage. The new amounts are as follows:
1st Claim=$50.00
2nd Claim=$65.00
rd Claim= $80.00
4th Claim (full replacement)=$325.00
These amounts will be charged from 12/10/20 moving forward. Please help us by reminding your children to treat their devices with respect. If you need to purchase a sleeve for their Chromebook, HERE is an example of one that will fit. They are 11.6 inch Chromebooks.
Queen of Peace is pleased to offer our students individual access to Chromebooks in grades 3-8, and access to classroom computers, the Internet, and other electronic networks. The advantages afforded by the rich, digital resources available today through the Internet outweigh any disadvantage. However, it is important to remember that access is a privilege, not a right, and carries with it responsibilities for all involved. Internet safety is an important concern.
Chromebooks, iPads and other devices are used as tools for research and education and, like any other school property, must be used for the educational purposes for which they are intended. The Chromebooks and iPads issued to students are the property of Queen of Peace.
